Classes and group sessions – live-streamed via Zoom

These live on-line sessions aim to preserve the atmosphere and personal connection of our usual gatherings.  There’s a maximum of around 15 participants so that individual needs and interests can be taken into consideration and choices and guidance offered to help each person find their own way to enjoy and benefit from yoga.
The teaching approach is gentle and shares the depth and fullness of the yoga tradition. See About Sue and Recommendations

Beginners welcome to any class (Monday Monday is a practice session, which requires a little experience). Those with experience will be supported to develop and deepen their yoga practice.  All classes have 15 minutes before we begin for setting-up, questions and individual help. Or you could book a 1-to-1 – see 1-to-1 and Private Sessions.

Our usual venue is the beautiful upstairs room at Friends’ Meeting House. I hope to offer some small group sessions there in the Autumn.  But now is a great opportunity to create a yoga space and establish your own practice at home – with support.

Mondays – from 2nd November 2020

8-8.30am. Monday Monday – live-streamed via Zoom  
A short, simple, uplifting session to start the week well. Moderately active movement and deep stretches. Breath. Short relaxation at the end.
This is a talked-through practice session rather than a taught class, so is for those with enough experience to be able to follow the verbal guidance and practise safely, taking care of any injuries/health issues. Log-in a few minutes before 8am. We will start and end in stillness and silence.

10.30am-12pm.   Yoga for Wellbeing – Cancercare clients only – live-streamed via Zoom   
An opportunity to gather together with others managing/recovering from cancer or other life-limiting illness.  The session begins with a welcome and group chat, a few minutes of stillness followed by gently uplifting movement, deep stretches and supported postures.  Breath.  Guided relaxation/meditation (10-15 mins).

Tuesdays – from 3rd November 2020

6-7.15 pm. Yoga for Early Evening – live-streamed via Zoom 
a moderately active practice with some deep stretches.  Breath.  Relaxation (5- 10 minutes).
You are welcome to log-in from 5.45pm for questions and anything you need help with.

7.30-9pm.   Yoga for Later Evening – live-streamed via Zoom 
a  slow,  gentle practice with some deep stretches to let go of the day and prepare for a good night’s sleep.  Breath.
The final half-hour is ‘Going Deeper’ – see below.

8.30-9pm.     Going Deeper – live-streamed via Zoom
This session is the concluding part of the preceding session or can be attended separately.
Lying down – slow, unwinding movements and supported postures. Breath. Guided relaxation/ meditation (15-20 mins).
Log-in just before 8.30pm.  We will start and end in stillness and silence.

Wednesdays – from 4th November 2020 

11am-12.30pm.   Yoga for Wellbeing – live-streamed via Zoom 
Particularly for people managing/recovering from illness, challenging life event or those who simply enjoy a slow pace and gentle practice with plenty of space to rest.  The session begins with a brief welcome and group chat.  We will then have a few minutes of stillness followed by movement that is slow and gentle but aims to uplift.  Deep stretches and supported postures.  Breath.  Guided relaxation/meditation (15-20 mins)

Using Zoom
Zoom is free of charge to use and generally quick and easy to download onto computer, tablet or phone.  I have been amazed how well we have been able to practise together over the past few months in this way, having never imagined I would teach yoga online. When you book a class, I will send you a link to access the session.  If possible, please arrange your space and camera so that I can see you so that I can guide your practice and so that you are part of the group.  If you choose to turn your camera off or arrange your space so that you are not always visible I just need to know that you are you, your needs and interests and that you can practise safely.

Cancellation and Refunds
This applies to general classes only (not Cancercare or UHMB sessions). For cancellation up to 7 days before the start date, you may have a full refund less £10 admin fee, transfer to another class in that block that has space or give your place to a friend. Sorry, no refunds for cancellation within 7 days of start date.
